US Cities for a Staycation. Aren’t we all suffering from the lockdown fatigue! Months of confinement! To be honest, when the self-quarantine practices began, we were relaxed and enjoyed the time off. But as the lockdown extended to months, things became a little too much and too monotonous.US Cities for a Staycation after the coronavirus. 

Staring at the same walls every day, sticking to the same couch surfing the same Cox Contour TV channels, and working from home became a little too much. So much so that we are craving for a vacation. So, if you are one of those people who canceled a cruise from Miami to the Caribbean, or a flight to Greece, now is probably a safe time to plan an escapade again. However, a staycation is a better idea. 

Why Staycation?

According to a survey conducted recently, around 94 million Americans canceled or planned to cancel their vacation plans due to the coronavirus outbreak. In light of this pandemic, it is wise to be conscious of the health and safety of your family and others. Therefore, international travel is still discouraged. With the high numbers of affected individuals in the United States, most of the countries are planning to continue to restrict American travelers. Only a handful of countries are welcoming US citizens for vacations. 

The good thing is that staycation is a valid and plausible option. Most Americans are opting for a staycation this year. And it’s more than that. We are going to see a change in the overall traveling trend. People are more willing to book trips closer to their homes.

Fortunately, America is full of amazing destinations. So, if you haven’t had a chance of exploring American cities, now is the time to plan a perfect staycation! If you are adventurous, renting an RV sounds like a great idea!

Moab, Utah

You will find Moab as a city full of hidden spots to park and camp. You will find tons of cool little desert spots. The city is a gateway to the gigantic red rock formations in the Arches National Park. The Green and Colorado rivers have carved mesas and buttes, which are a major feature of Canyonlands National Park.

Moreover, you will discover a lot of Native American rock art. In the Copper Ridge and Bull Canyon Overlook, you can even find dinosaur tracks and other archaeological artifacts. The Dead Horse Point State Park features a dramatic overlook of the Canyonlands National Park and the Colorado River. This 5,300-acre park and other lesser-known parks feature unexpected views.

Spectacular, a small village found in upstate New York, lives up to its name. With a population of a few hundred people, it is a secluded and quiet place for you and your family to visit. Now when you are trying to avoided crowds, this is a perfect destination. 

In addition, the town features a beautiful lake and scenic mountains for exploration. You can find a number of Airbnb areas to rent in the nearby campsites. The beauty, serenity, and the factor of unexpectedness will make you fall in love with it. 

Badlands National Park, South Dakota

Looking for an isolated place? This prime stargazing spot is a perfect destination to and you will be able to avoid interacting with others. The stargazing ventures will be just phenomenal. This national park is spread out on 244,000-acre. 

It features dramatic landscapes with layered rock formations, towering spires, and steep canyons. The native animals, Bison and prairie dogs inhabit the sprawling grasslands. Highway 240, that you will take to reach the destination winds past stunning lookouts.

Bear Lake Reserve, North Carolina

You will have to drive an hour from Asheville, North Carolina to reach Bear Lake Reserve. It is a scenic resort surrounded by hiking trails, cabins, and waterfalls. The reserve features 20 miles of extensive hiking trails where visitors explore creeks, rock domes, valleys, and waterfalls. 

You get to explore nice little towns outside the reserve. Consider this reserve a hidden gem. You will fall in love with it instantly.
