Life can get busy, which often means that we don’t have enough time to engage in the hobbies or activities we love most. Although being sick certainly isn’t a benefit, it does give us the perfect excuse to take some time for ourselves while we wait to get back to normal. For example, if you love playing Overwatch, you may want to break out your laptop, get all of your tech ready, and play a game or two while you have the energy. If you don’t feel completely up to gaming, you can still enjoy Overwatch by taking time to brush up on some Overwatch news so you can catch up with the community and learn more about developments you should be getting excited about. Whether it’s about character revamps or changes being made to tournaments, there’s certainly plenty of reading material.

While you’re at it, you may also want to consider finding some new tech that will allow you to play more comfortably. Whether you’re in need of new Bluetooth tech like a pair of headphones or a wireless controller, you can easily get something shipped to you in a matter of days so you can play when you do have more energy.

Use your free time to take online classes or courses.

The modern era has given rise to virtual education platforms that are accessible to everyone. No matter what you’re interested in, there’s the opportunity to learn more about it via paid or free online classes. Say, for example, you have an interest in human anatomy and health. You can always begin with a class teaching you more about brain health and topics like cerebral aneurysms (rupture in an artery wall) and aneurysm risk factors. Some other examples of classes you can take include marketing courses, classes where you learn how to play an instrument like the guitar, or even classes about resilience and mental health. Put simply, the only limit is how much time you have to learn it. Additionally, there are plenty of great learning platforms out there to help you get started on your self-education journey.

Put on your favorite TV show and sleep the sickness off.

When we’re sick, the thought of putting any energy into anything besides getting better can be exhausting. If you don’t feel like doing anything, don’t worry. There’s no rule that you need to be using your time productively. Instead, put on a TV show that you love, take some medicine, and let yourself drift off into a peaceful slumber where you don’t need to think about being sick or anything else. Everything will still be in its place when you wake up.

Being sick is a terrible thing to deal with. Being sick and not being able to move around or go about your day is even worse. If you can relate to the latter, use some of the ideas above to figure out what you can do while you’re stuck in bed and waiting to feel back to your normal self again.
