Go to Secondhand Stores By Budget

This might seem counterproductive, but going to secondhand shops (or looking at online secondhand shops) is one of the best ways to look expensive on a budget as long as you do it right.

This is going to take some trial-and-error, but once you figure it out, you’ll be able to craft a perfect wardrobe on a tiny budget.

You’re going to have to do a lot of digging through clothing. Check local thrift stores and vintage stores and prepare to spend at least a half-hour (if not a full hour) looking at clothing.

You’ll be shocked at how many good items are at these stores. You can find designer items if you look hard enough.

Even if you don’t find designer items, you can find items that are well-made and interesting (albeit they won’t be “this season’s” clothing). Don’t focus on what’s new and trendy. Focus on what looks good.

Create a Capsule Wardrobe

Capsule wardrobes are perfect for any fashion lover who is on a budget. When you have fewer items of clothing, you spend less money by default. It’s also easy to mix and match so you always look put together.

You should have a wardrobe for each season so you’re able to stay comfortable. You don’t need to include bikinis and winter jackets in the same capsule.

Stick to a wardrobe with 40 or fewer pieces of clothing. You don’t have to have an excessive wardrobe to have a glamorous wardrobe.

Focus on Accessories

When it comes to learning how to look more glamorous on a budget, you can’t underestimate the importance of the right accessories.

Sometimes even the most “boring” outfit can look more stylish with the right accessories. When you have a statement piece that draws the eye, or a collection of cohesive jewelry, your outfit will look more intentional.

Start with basic jewelry pieces like necklaces, earrings, and rings. For a simple and cohesive look, make them all match.

Use fun hats and shoes to add some razzle-dazzle to your look. Don’t be afraid to think outside of the box with shoes. Go wild with faux snakeskin, mega-high heels, or even stylish thigh-high boots (which look great over jeans and leggings).

When you accessorize, you get the chance to step outside of your comfort zone and upgrade your style.

That’s How to Look Expensive on a Budget

Figuring out how to look expensive when you’re on limited funds is going to be a trial-and-error process, but developing your own style is a lot of fun! Remember, what’s most important is that you feel comfortable and stylish in your clothing, even if it doesn’t match current trends. Glamor isn’t one specific style.
